![]() Though it may seem cute to have a puff ball at the tip, make no mistake that this creature is not cute. However, in some cases the wolf-like creature had the appearance of a bear bear head with a long tail tipped with a white puff. A 1914 historian of “The Early History of Jackson County Georgia” this creature looked like a wolf constantly sitting on its tail. It is said that this creature is about the size of a small horse, covered in long black fur, and legs that are longer in the front than the hind legs. Some legends say that this Gateway to Hell is protected by the Wog. In the 1800s, the Creeks had built a stone alter at this bog where they executed prisoners, and tossed the bodies into the water where the soul would suffer in Hell for all eternity. ![]() In the Creek language, “Nodoroc” means, “gateway to Hell” which isn’t too much of stretch for our creature. This is where our next and final creature resides for this blog. ![]() Here can be found a small volcano that seethed and bubbled, spewing out smoke, coating the entire area with a hellish appearance. ![]() Near Winder, Georgia there is a boggy pond called Nodoroc by local Creek Indians.
